Salerno Container Terminal uses high standards computerising of all terminal functions. As an active member of the SMDG Group (User Group for Shipping Lines and Container Terminals), Salerno Container Terminal is able to offer such EDI messages as Baplie (Stowplan), Movins (Stowage instructions), TPF (Terminal Performance Report) and all landside messages to the Lines and or their agents. l software programs can be tailor-made, thus offering the most effective set-up for container terminal, shipping agencies, transport and logistic services to the Lines. The terminal operates opertes by 5 ship-to-shore cranes (3 post Panamax with a out reach of 52 m. and able to handle vessels with 16 containers across), all equipped with twin-lift spreaders, on an area of approximately 100.000 sq. meters, used for the storage of full and empty containers. New Copas/Cosmos systems incl. Ships/yard/traffic/viewer (into the cranes), Terminal Operating & monitoring system/Invoice and Management software and Gate security system, new data base, based on Microsoft SQL, all available via the web side will be implemented during the year 2003.
