Salerno Container Terminal's need for 100 per cent reliable equipment led to be establishment of a sophisticated maintenance and repair division. It was quickly realized that the provision of similar services to customers would also help the port's evolving productivity, so today SCT's trained specialist engineers provide not only day-to-day maintenance of the terminal's handling equipment and facilities, but also repair and mantain customers' containers and refrigeration units. Refurbishment and repairs to any type of container done at the terminal mean less delay and higher availability, as well as considerable cost savings. Anything from washing and painting to demanding structural repairs can be handled. For extra-urgent repairs, two mobile workshops are available.
